Kylian Mbappé spoke with the Emir of Qatar and the French president. The content of the exchange has been disclosed.

Paris Saint-Germain striker and Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappé may be the most bankable footballer in the world after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but he is the only one to attend royal receptions in the French government. On Tuesday evening, the Emir of Qatar had dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and Mbappé was one of the guests.

Arriving at the palace, Macron greeted the Bondynois, and RMC captured his words. “You’re going to get us into trouble again.”, he said to the PSG striker, but with a smile and a joke in his tone. Mbappé mingled with many big names in the French-Qatari business world, including LFP president Vincent Labrune.

Mbappé will “create trouble”

Macron gave a speech in which he called the Qatar World Cup final the best yet. The Emir and Qatar are expected to invest 10 billion euros in French infrastructure over the coming years.

“There are also so many beautiful memories, in moments less serious but as vibrant as this 2022 World Cup. Kylian Mbappé’s extraordinary match, the memory of Kolo Muani’s saved shot, which still remains bitter in the hearts of the French. But that’s the essence of king sport. They had a fantastic tournament, with what I think was the most spectacular final in history. France was there with its supporters, its security forces, its companies like the RATP and its footballers.”

Macron’s involvement with Mbappé came under scrutiny in 2022, when he reportedly spoke with the PSG star about his future before signing an extension with PSG, turning down Real Madrid in the process. This was clearly a matter of state, with Macron wanting Mbappé to continue living in the French capital. This time he made no effort to influence the French striker, who has already decided to join Los Blancos.
