Cristiano Ronaldo finds himself in the eye of the storm after making an obscene gesture towards the public on Sunday evening during Al-Nassr’s victory over Al-Shabab (2-3).

It is a scene which has not gone unnoticed and which arouses enormous controversy. At the end of the match won by Al-Nassr on Al-Shabab’s pitch (2-3), Sunday evening in the Saudi Pro League, Cristiano Ronaldo completely broke down.

Chambered by the opposing supporters throughout the game, who notably chanted “Messi, Messi,…” as a promotion, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner then expressed his annoyance at the final whistle. The Portuguese star responded with an obscene gesture towards his detractors.

A sequence which shocked many observers and pushed the disciplinary and ethics committee of the Saudi Football Federation to open an investigation. It will study all available evidence before taking a sanction or not against CR7.

But, according to information from Saudi journalist Al Al-Harbi, Ronaldo can sleep soundly. No sanctions would be considered against the 39-year-old striker, who should therefore be present to face Al-Hazm this Thursday.
