OL validated their presence in the semi-final of the Coupe de France by taking over Strasbourg (0-0 aptb 4-2) this Tuesday.

For the fourth time in five years, OL will participate in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France. Les Gones managed to enter the last four by dominating Strasbourg this Tuesday. This was only done on penalties (0-0 aptb 4-2), but the main thing was over and the objective was therefore accomplished.

OL two victories away from Europe

It was the lottery which decided the two teams, but OL did not steal their qualification. Les Gones were the best team on the pitch. Time and time again, they came close to making the difference but fell just short. Like Said Benrahma, on an occasion at the very end of the match.

By winning this Tuesday, OL find themselves two matches away from European qualification. An unexpected fact just a few weeks ago. What could have been a nightmare season is gradually turning into a memorable campaign. And Pierre Sage certainly has a lot to do with it.

Strasbourg lowered its flag, but Patrick Vieira’s team was not ridiculous either. She sold her skin dearly, being courageous throughout the entire game. The penalty shootout exercise did not please him.
