Surprised at the very start of the match, the Olympians reacted perfectly and won against MHSC, two months after their last success in Ligue 1.

For his second match at the head of OM, Jean-Louis Gasset saw his team put in a very convincing performance against MHSC. Trailing, Marseille thus found the resources to overthrow Montpellier and sign its first victory in Ligue 1 in 2024. However, everything started very badly for the Phocaeans, who were very quickly surprised in this meeting. Gigot missed his clearance into the area. The ball flew off and Al-Tamari headed home in front of Mbemba for 1-0 in the 5th minute of play.

Marseille would get back on track after half an hour of play. Ndiaye played Sacko with a nice dribble in the area and fired hard with his left foot to beat Lecomte, who was defeated again by Aubameyang just before the break. 2-1, score at the break. the Gabonese then went for his personal double at the start of the second half from the penalty spot which sanctioned a tackle by Kouyaté at the feet of Ndiaye in the area. OM then sealed the fate of the match with a 4-1 ten minutes from time. A cross from Ismaïla Sarr was deflected into his own net by Sacko.

Very nice victory for OM, therefore. Opposite, the MHSC remains at the bottom of the table and in great danger. On the next day, OM will travel to Clermont (18th) while Montpellier will host Strasbourg (13th).
