Real Madrid are ready to welcome a key member of their squad before the end of the crucial season, namely Eder Militao.

The Brazilian defender tore his anterior cruciate ligament last August during a match against Athletic Club, and since then he has been working to return as quickly as possible.

Militao’s progress is very impressive. Six months after the incident and the subsequent operation, he is already doing individual work with the ball and, according to those around him, as reported by Relevo, he is “practically ready” to return to the game.

An expected return

The idea is that Militao will resume collective training very soon, in order to make his return in time for the quarter-finals of the Champions League which will begin at the beginning of April, provided that Real Madrid eliminates RB Leipzig in the round of 16 .

The return of Militao will be a major asset for Carlo Ancelotti. Over the past two months, Real Madrid have only been able to rely on Antonio Rudiger and Nacho Fernandez as natural central defenders, meaning Aurélien Tchouameni and Dani Carvajal have acted as backup options. Soon they will start to have some real depth at the position.
