As part of the 23rd day of Ligue 1 and a few days before meeting Real Sociedad for the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain, more than ever leader of the French championship, will host this Sunday , Stade Rennais, just eliminated from the Europa League despite a prestigious midweek victory against AC Milan. For this meeting, Luis Enrique’s flock will, however, have to do without the services of Marquinhos, who was injured in the calf last Saturday against Nantes. Present at a press conference, the former coach of La Roja quickly reassured about the state of form of the 29-year-old Brazilian.

“His injury? No it doesn’t matter, I don’t know what we wrote about the medical aspect but it doesn’t matter. He won’t be here tomorrow but that doesn’t matter.”, assured the architect of the Rouge et Bleu. Beyond the physical condition of the former AS Roma player, the Parisian coach especially had to respond to requests from journalists, curious to know more about the future of the Ile-de-France number 5 in the City of Lights. And for good reason. Although regularly criticized by various observers, the native of São Paulo nonetheless remains a sure bet in his position, as evidenced by his very serious performance on February 14 against Real Sociedad. A high-level experience logically pushing the competition to test the waters with Auriverde.

Luis Enrique is counting on Marquinhos!

In this context, UOL recently stated that the PSG captain already had offers for next summer! If Premier League clubs have expressed an interest, Bayern Munich seems, at present, the most serious candidate. In great pain this season, the Bavarian club – which has already noted the departure of Thomas Tuchel next June – is preparing for a large staff review. A general overhaul which could therefore involve Marquinhos, obviously provided that the French champion agrees to let him go… At the heart of this hot news surrounding the 1m83 right-hander, Luis Enrique could not escape questions concerning the future of the player trained at Corinthians.

However, nothing to destabilize the former coach of La Roja, not necessarily decided to address the questions linked to the transfer window. “(breathes) I’m not talking about transfers. History says that few players leave PSG, those who leave, it’s because their contract ends or the club sells. I don’t think this is the case with Marquinhos. The new financial fair play law obliges clubs to buy or sell players.Luis Enrique soberly released before returning to the criticisms made against his player. “For the criticisms, when you are at PSG, you have to deal with them and accept them. If I have to talk about Marquinhos, he’s a top player, he’s a very important player for us.”. The message has been sent, we now have to wait to find out more…
