For Nabil Djellit, OM leaders would be well advised to offer Hervé Renard to take over from Jean-Louis Gasset next season.

After another defeat for OM in Brest (1-0), last Sunday in Ligue 1, Gennaro Gattuso was dismissed from his duties. In the process, the Olympian leaders appointed Jean-Louis Gasset to replace him. A short-term choice since the former Ivory Coast coach has signed a four-month contract, until the end of the season.

From then on, Pablo Longoria and his teams are already working to find a coach for the next exercise. If the names of Christophe Galtier or Paulo Fonseca were mentioned in the press, that of Hervé Renard was blown away by Nabil Djellit.

“Benatia was Hervé Renard’s captain”

“If Hervé Renard wins the Nations League with France, there will be a form of recognition, especially since he made a strong choice financially (e.g. leaving his post of coach of Saudi Arabia, editor’s note). For Ligue 1 presidents, it’s something that can speak to them. I am not here to speculate, but today in Marseille, we are already talking about the post-Gasset period since he is there for four months”confided the journalist on the set of the L’Equipe channel.

And to continue: “ There are names that are mentioned, but Hervé Renard could very well be mentioned. I don’t know what weight Mehdi Benatia will have in the future at OM, but Benatia was Hervé Renard’s captain with the Morocco team. If he has a say on the future coach of Olympique de Marseille, he can include the name of Hervé Renard. » To the wise…
