3 defeats in 8 days. We certainly had to dust off the history books to find traces of such a negative series at Bayern Munich. But after having suffered the harsh law of Leverkusen two weeks ago in the league (3-0), being beaten by Lazio (1-0) in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League ten days ago, then surprised by Bochum at the start of the week (3-2), Thomas Tuchel’s players finally returned to victory this Saturday against Leipzig (2-1), 4th in the championship. Would the formalization of the departure of the German technician at the end of the season have had an electroshock effect this week? Maybe not either, but in any case, this success will be good for the heads. In control during the first period, the Munich residents could have beaten their opponent from the start.

From the 4th minute of play, Blaswich pulled out all the stops by diverting a superb header from Harry Kane onto his post. Just before the break, the Englishman had another opportunity to break the deadlock, but his acrobatic return was without danger for the German goalkeeper. The biggest situation for Leipzig was Mohamed Simakan who created it from a corner with a shot from the left flirting with Manuel Neuer’s post shortly after returning from the locker room (53rd). A short-lived thrill as Kane opened the scoring with a heavy strike three minutes later, scoring his 26th goal of the season in the Bundesliga (56th, 1-0). Benjamin Sesko, not very successful so far, responded by equalizing fifteen minutes later, helped by an unfortunate Goretzka (70th, 1-1). But just as we seemed to be heading towards a draw, Harry Kane appeared again to score the winning goal (90+1, 2-1). In the standings, this result allows Bayern to maintain its 2nd place, although 11 points behind Leverkusen. Leipzig is 5th.
