FC Barcelona gleaned a second success in a row in La Liga, this Saturday against Getafe.

Xavi’s Barça is doing better. This is the conclusion that we could draw after the success achieved by the Catalans against Getafe this Saturday. In their (provisional) stronghold of Montjuich, the Blaugrana won without much difficulty 3-0.

This is the second victory in a row that the Barcelona side have won in the league, after the one they secured against Vigo last week. With these points won, the reigning Spanish champions temporarily rise to second place in the standings, five points behind their sworn enemy Real.

Barça rolled out

It was Raphinha who showed the Barcelonans the way forward. The Brazilian winger took advantage of an offering from Frenchman Jules Koundé to score his first league goal since 2024. He was then imitated by Joao Felix. Shortly after returning from the locker room, the Portuguese secured the break by taking advantage of a serve from Andreas Christensen.

Barcelona’s third goal was then the work of Frenkie De Jong. The Dutchman did not miss his point-blank shot in the box and this achievement will allow him to silence the criticism against him. Finally, the fourth and final goal for the locals was scored by young Fermin Lopez at the very end of the match.
