Two weeks before the return match against Real Sociedad, is PSG safe from another disappointment? Not necessarily.
On February 14, Paris Saint-Germain won (2-0) against Real Sociedad, at the Parc des Princes, in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League. After a chaotic first half, the capital club managed to get into good shape before the return match, which will take place in Spain on March 5.
However, in this competition, the Rouge et Bleu have already experienced several traumas. The most memorable being that of the comeback in Barcelona (6-1 defeat at Camp Nou after winning 4-0 at home in the first leg). Two years later, they suffered an identical fate, this time at the Parc des Princes, against Manchester United (3-1 defeat after a 2-0 first leg victory at Old Trafford).
The comeback syndrome
Kylian Mbappé and his teammates must therefore exercise great caution, two weeks before the return match against Real Sociedad. “There is enormous pressure on the return match because in this team, for the moment, we are not talking. Only Luis Enrique speaks. I say it from reliable sources, in the locker room, they do not want to relive a comeback”confided Jérôme Rothen on RMC.
Before going to the Stade d’Anoeta, Luis Enrique’s men will play two matches in Ligue 1. First on Sunday, receiving Rennes on the 23rd day, then on Friday March 1, with a trip to Monaco.
