Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been extremely complimentary of Spain international Rodri.
Manchester City had a narrow escape against Chelsea (1-1) this Sunday in the Premier League. Trailing 1-0 in the 42nd minute after Raheem Sterling opened the score, the reigning English champions were able to count on Spanish defensive midfielder Rodri to equalize at the end of the match, and collect the point of the draw.
The fifth in the 2023 Ballon d’Or rankings has once again lived up to his status. Which earned him several compliments from his coach Pep Guardiola.
“Rodri can do anything”
The Skyblues coach was unanimous: “Rodri is currently the best midfielder in the world. And added: “He’s incredible, he’s really capable of doing anything. His signing for the club was a turning point. It would have been difficult without him,” added Guardiola.
As a reminder, the native of Madrid joined the ranks of Cityzens in July 2019 from Atlético Madrid, for a transfer amount estimated at 70 million euros.
