After receiving his eighth Ballon d’Or last October, Lionel Messi gave a replica to FC Barcelona to exhibit it alongside his seven other Ballons d’Or in the Catalan club’s museum.

Under construction since last summer (the renovation will not be completed until June 2026), the Camp Nou can no longer be visited at the same time as the FC Barcelona museum. But football fans passing through the Catalan city can find Lionel Messi’s eight Ballons d’Or, all gathered in a room in the Museum dedicated to the former number 10 of the Blaugrana. A bargain for only 19 euros entry.

Messi indeed offered a replica of his 8th Ballon d’Or to FCB after his final coronation last October. Probably his last at 36. Captain of the 2022 world champions in Qatar, “La Pulga” was rewarded for his 2002-2023 season played with Abiceleste and PSG. But it was therefore not to the Parisian club that he did the honor of offering a copy of the award for France Football

Messi’s nightmare at PSG

As a reminder, the Ballon d’Or record holder’s move to PSG was not a success, far from it. Despite very good statistics (32 goals and 34 assists in 75 matches in all competitions), number 30, amorphous in the defensive phase, has too often handicapped his team. Result of the races: two eliminations in the round of 16 of the Champions League and whistles from the Parc des Princes until the end…

The visit to the museum and the Camp Nou (with access to the changing rooms, the tunnel leading to the pitch and the pitch!) had become the second most visited museum in the city of Gaudi, with 1.2 million visitors per year, in front of the Picasso Museum, which welcomed more than 1.3 million visitors. Entrance was 23 euros (17 euros for under 13s, students and over 70s).
