Mbappé, no!

In the running for the UNFP Player of the Month Trophy for January in Ligue 1, Kylian Mbappé was finally beaten by Martin Terrier.

Kylian Mbappé will not win a new Ligue 1 player of the month trophy, or at least not this time. The Paris Saint-Germain striker was overtaken by Martin Terrier in the fight for the player of the month award for January.

It was a bit of a special month, because there were only two championship days in January, due to the Coupe de France. Mbappé was a passer and scorer during PSG’s victory against Lens (2-0), before remaining silent against Brest. Terrier, himself, participated in Rennes’ victory against Nice (2-0) but above all he scored a double during the Bretons’ victory in Lyon (2-3).

No 12th trophy for Mbappé

This is Terrier’s third player of the month award of his career, the first since his serious knee injury. Mbappé is the record holder with 11 player of the month trophies, the last two having been obtained this season, in October and November. He still has a few months to win some individual awards before undoubtedly leaving Ligue 1…
