Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane could take the reins of Bayern Munich this summer.
Zidane remains linked with numerous positions after missing his chance to replace Didier Deschamps at the helm of the French team. The former midfielder has, as a reminder, been unemployed since leaving Madrid at the end of the 2020/21 season. However, despite missing almost three campaigns, his rating remains high, as he weighs a return to the bench.
Corriere Dello Sport thus affirms that he is the favorite to replace Thomas Tuchel in Munich. Tuchel is under heavy pressure in Bavaria as Bayern strive to stay on course in the Bundesliga and Champions League, and he could be fired if he fails. Former Bavarian coach Hansi Flick has also been linked with a return to the Allianz Arena, with him also expected to take Xavi Hernandez’s place at Barcelona.
With Flick in the crosshairs of FC Barcelona, Zidane could see himself opening the royal road to a prestigious position in a very big club, which would not be a blemish on his CV.
