We can say that Luka Modric has had a very difficult season.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has made almost no use of the 38-year-old, who has opted to use the likes of Aurélien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde much more regularly.
The situation is very different from that of last season, when Modric was an indisputable starter in the Blancos team. As Relevo reports, keeping his status was one of the key points of last summer’s contract negotiations, during which the Croatian midfielder agreed to a one-year extension. He believes that the promises made to him have not been kept and he would have preferred the club to be clearer at the time of renewal.
Obviously disappointed
Modric wanted to end his Real Madrid career on a high note, being an important member of the first team. However, this is far from being the case, which greatly disappointed him.
It is highly likely that Modric will end his stay at Real Madrid this summer. He could still make an impact by the end of the season, but the end of his brilliant 12-year run in the Spanish capital is disappointing.
