Reims and Lens parted with a parity score this Sunday for the 22nd day of Ligue 1 (1-1).
Without making any noise, Racing Club de Lens is emerging as one of the most consistent teams in Ligue 1 in 2024. The French vice-champions had the opportunity to provisionally enter the top 5 before the Brest match against ‘Olympique de Marseille a little later in the evening. But the Sang et Or missed their mark.
Lacking realism in the two zones of truth, Franck Haise’s team had to settle for a parity score on the Reims pitch – an opponent who has been blowing hot and cold for several weeks.
Lensois with jets
Everything came down to the end of an intense and contested first act. Well organized, the Rémois broke the deadlock through Diakité (1-0, 42nd). Stung in their pride, Franck Haise’s men found the resources to equalize before returning to the locker room with a victorious helmet strike from Saïd (1-1, 45th+2).
A lesser evil for a Lens team which had its highlights, but was unable to capitalize on them, like Guilavogui in the second half (76th). Lens remains stuck in sixth place. Reims is in eighth.
