An English striker to replace Mbappé?

PSG is already looking for Kylian Mbappé’s replacement and could set its sights on Marcus Rashford, the English striker from Manchester United.

While the departure of Kylian Mbappé is recorded from Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Campos and the management of the Parisian club are already prospecting to find a replacement worthy of the name. According to the Sunday Times, the lucky one could be an attacker of the same generation as the captain of the Blues.

Marcus Rashford, whose name had already been mentioned last summer in the capital, would be on the Parisians’ shortlist to strengthen the offensive sector and compensate as much as possible for the absence of the French star.

Rashford, 26, is less productive this season in the Premier League, where he has scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists. Statistics quite far from what the England international offered in 2022-2023. The Mancunian had scored 17 times in the league and was one of the major players in Erik ten Hag’s group.

Cheaper than expected?

This less prolific season could lower the price of Marcus Rashford a little, estimated so far at around 70 million euros. The money recovered during the official signing of Kylian Mbappé for Real Madrid – if there is an agreement between the player and the Ile-de-France team – can then be used in a transaction of this type.

PSG does not have the habit of recruiting British players. If Rashford were to arrive in Paris, he would only be the fourth Englishman to wear the Rouge et Bleu jersey after Jantzen Derrick (1971-1972), Ray Wilkins (1987) and of course David Beckham, who ended his career at the Parc of the Princes in 2013.
