Yu Kato’s story was a little less beautiful than expected. This Japanese fan from Angers, invited by the French streamer Arkunir to spend a few days near the SCO and attended the match between his team and AS Saint-Etienne, traveled 10,000 km from Osaka to live his dream, completed by … a failure. Angers in fact lost heavily (0-3) at home against the Greens for one of the best displays of the 24th day of Ligue 2.

Present at the edge of the pitch and at the microphone of beIN Sports to tell his experience, Kato explained that he became a supporter of the Angevin team a few years ago, thanks to videos putting Sofiane Boufal in the spotlight. If he was able to take advantage of the atmosphere at the start of the game and kicked off in the company of the famous videographer, the Nippon enjoyed almost half-time before becoming disillusioned.

A deep feeling of gratitude

A double from Irvin Cardona (42nd and 44th) and an own goal from Jordan Lefort (64th) allowed the Stéphanois to sign a second success in a row and to get closer, at least provisionally, to the top 3. Angers remains 2nd , but misses the opportunity to put pressure on Auxerre, who travels to Annecy a little later.

“I am very happy to be here, I feel a deep sense of gratitude towards Arkunir, the SCO players and the whole club,” had still declared Yu Kato, who we imagine will try to come back in the hope of bringing a little more luck to Angers next time, especially with the objective of moving up to Ligue 1.
