The famous Real Madrid train which only passes once will therefore have been as regular as a metro line for Kylian Mbappé. The latter will join the Merengue club, as we revealed to you on January 7, before the sudden awakening of the rest of France yesterday. The French striker’s decision dates back a few weeks, and discussions with Real Madrid are much more than started. The financial conditions are, however, still being discussed, and this is what interests the Spanish newspaper Ace this Friday.

Indeed, the Merengue club cannot offer him the same emoluments as those received at Paris Saint-Germain, i.e. €72 million gross plus bonus. We are far, very far from what Jude Bellingham, currently the highest paid player in the Madrid locker room, receives, namely €20 million gross per season. Difference in size, the Englishman did not arrive free, Real having paid €103 million to Borussia Dortmund. As a free agent, Kylian Mbappé can claim more, without this creating a stir among other players.

The question of image rights

The starting point for negotiations, for the Mbappé clan, would amount to €50 million gross per season. An amount that is already too high for Madrid’s leaders, who are doing everything possible to find the right financial formula, via various bonuses. Daily life Ace already assures that the contract awaiting the Frenchman will bind him until 2030 with Casa Blanca. And in Spain, we are confident about the attacker’s willingness to make compromises from a financial point of view.

There will then remain the famous question of image rights, which Real Madrid still wishes to share, while Mbappé wants to have 100% of the benefits. Here again, there will be a question of compromise. Because by signing for Real Madrid, the 25-year-old player will unlock new possible partnerships and sponsors, attracted by the association between the two entities. Everything is therefore not settled financially, but optimism reigns on both sides, because Mbappé has made his choice.
