The love story between Kylian Mbappé and PSG is about to end. After seven years in the capital, the French international (75 caps, 46 goals) announced to Nasser Al-Khelaïfi that he was leaving the Rouge et Bleu. The end of an era for the reigning French champions as we exclusively revealed to you, on January 7, that the Bondynois had decided to join Real Madrid. Present at a press conference this Friday, before his team travels to the pitch at FC Nantes (Saturday, 9 p.m.), Luis Enrique was logically questioned about this heated issue, at a time when reactions are multiplying.

“Does the announced departure of Kylian Mbappé change anything in the project?”, one of our colleagues first asked the Spanish technician. Response from the interested party: “no, I have no information to give you”. A clear first response that did not completely disarm the motivation displayed by the journalists present on site. Immediately relaunched on the subject, the former coach of La Roja then indulged in a more detailed speech, without saying more… “I will try to finish on this subject. Until the parties involved weigh in, I will not comment. I’m the coach. I will speak when the parties speak. We will continue to work. The team is above everyone else, that’s our message. The club is above all individuality”hammered Luis Enrique.

A firmness then pushing the audience to turn away somewhat from the central subject to try to find out more. “It’s the atmosphere of every practice before a game. It’s normal training.”responded, in this regard, the Parisian coach, questioned about a possible destabilization of the group after such information before ensuring that such an episode would not change anything in his daily life. “No (I have no fear, editor’s note). You have to have personality to sit here. There are rumors around the club all the time, criticism, praise, controversy… it’s normal. Anyone who doesn’t like it can’t be here.”. Questioned subsequently about the future of the capital club – which is therefore preparing to shape a team without the top scorer in the club’s history – Luis Enrique was also not very talkative.

“I work every day with my staff and sports management on the present and the future. The near future of the workforce. This is our goal throughout the season and it is the goal of all sports directors.. Words, however, echo the new mantra of Paris Saint-Germain, following the internal announcement of the departure of Kylian Mbappé at the end of the season. “We want to continue to place the institution above everything else. There are already plans to sign new players. We are going to extend Warren Zaire-Emery (under contract until 2025 and who will be promoted by the club) and we have the means to have a team which will be very competitive”. Unfazed by the revelations revealed on the Mbappé file, Luis Enrique, relaunched one last time by a Spanish journalist, finally concluded his intervention with a new laconic response: “No, I have no information to give you on this subject. I have already spoken. I already answered”. That’s what it says! To find out more from the mouth of the ex-Barça technician, we will therefore have to wait for official communications from the various parties concerned…
