Victorious over Real Sociedad in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League this Wednesday with a score of 2 goals to 0, everything is going well within Luis Enrique’s squad.
THE Red and blue are on a series of 17 matches without defeat and in a good position to reach the quarter-finals of C1.
Present at a press conference this Friday before the match against FC Nantes this Saturday, Luis Enrique gave some details about his team. The Spanish technician affirmed that an important player would soon return to the pitch.
“He is not available yet, he needs to train with the team. But he is almost 100%. He still has a little work to do. I hope he can enjoy himself after his long injury. We’ve been waiting for it and this moment is getting closer.” he said.
Back in the group against Rennes?
Nuno Mendes is close to making his return to the fields of Ligue 1 and the Champions League. This Friday, Luis Enrique announced that the left back was very close to playing again with his partners. The number 25 is also no longer part of the Parisian medical communiqué.
If all goes well, the Portuguese international has a chance of appearing in the red and blue group during the next Ligue 1 matchday against Stade Rennais on Sunday February 25. A strong reinforcement which could change the face of Luis Enrique’s team in this second part of the season.
