The typical CAN team

The Confederation of African Football has lifted the veil on the eleven type of the African Cup of Nations which has just concluded.

To all credit, crowned African champion for the third time in its history, Ivory Coast figures prominently in this team, with no less than three representatives: Konan, Seri and Kessié.

Unlucky finalists Nigeria also have three ambassadors in this typical team, in the form of their goalscoring captain Troost-Ekong, Aina and Lookman.

Two Congolese and two South Africans, semi-finalists, are also invited to this gala training. And in particular Mbemba, the OM defender.

The competition’s top scorer, Nsue, does Equatorial Guinea credit by playing in attack alongside Wissa and Lookman.

The CAN 2023 typical team: Williams (South Africa) – Aina (Nigeria), Troost-Ekong (Nigeria), Mbemba (DR Congo), Konan (Ivory Coast) – Mokoena (South Africa), Seri (Ivory Coast), Kessié (Ivory Coast) – Wissa (DR Congo), Nsue (Equatorial Guinea), Lookman (Nigeria).
