Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has told his players to give their best to Harry Kane as they prepare to face Lazio in the Champions League.
Bayern are licking their wounds after their 3-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen and are preparing to face Lazio in the Champions League. Kane only touched the ball 18 times against Leverkusen and Tuchel wants his team to incorporate the England captain more into the game.
Tuchel told reporters: “ It was rare that Harry touched the ball so little (against Leverkusen). The training was designed for him, but we didn’t find it at all. We want Harry to participate more in the game and we need to remedy this situation. I am convinced that we can react (against Lazio). It was not enough in Leverkusen. But it’s a new opponent, a new competition. I hope we can catch up”.
Kane less effective
Kane’s performance against Leverkusen came after a run of 28 goals in 28 matches in all competitions, making his inability to influence the course of the game even more glaring.
Kane has scored four goals in six Champions League matches this year, while providing three assists. After the match against Lazio, Bayern will face VFL Bochum on Sunday. They currently sit five points behind Bundesliga leaders Leverkusen.
