Paris Saint-Germain’s next opponent in Ligue 1, FC Nantes will not be able to count on their goalkeeper Alban Lafont, injured in the left thigh.
Paris Saint-Germain is definitely rather polished when it comes to the injuries of its opponents. While Real Sociedad is much reduced for its trip to the Parc des Princes this Wednesday evening in the Champions League, it is FC Nantes which has just lost a frame for its match against Paris, Saturday evening, as part of the 22nd day of Ligue 1.
Alban Lafont, the starting goalkeeper of the Canaries, has just joined the infirmary. The former international hopeful injured his left thigh on Sunday during the victory in Toulouse (1-2), in the final minutes of the match. According to Ouest-France, the former Fiorentina player is suffering from a small muscle tear, which will at least deprive him of the shock against PSG.
Lafont had disgusted PSG in 2022
This is a hard blow for the FCN, because Lafont has sometimes shone against PSG during his career. Two years ago, he delivered a sparkling performance in the victory for Antoine KombouarĂ©’s Canaries against the Parisian stars (3-1). By opposing Kylian MbappĂ© and Lionel Messi, and by repelling Neymar’s penalty, Lafont inherited the rating of 10/10 in L’Equipe.
Note that Lafont’s understudy, RĂ©my Descamps, has been absent for around two weeks due to an adductor injury. But the player trained at PSG should be able to hold his place against his former club, adds Ouest-France.
