How far will Chelsea fall? This is the question we ask ourselves every time we see the Blues playing in the Premier League. Even a trip to Crystal Palace seems complicated for the team led by Mauricio Pochettino, who lined up the same eleven as against Aston Villa in the Cup. A victorious eleven which did not spark at Selhurst Park. We even had to wait until the 45th minute to see a Chelsea strike, signed by Gallagher! The Blues were then trailing 1-0 following a clear strike from Lerma (30th), into Petrovic’s top corner, sanctioning the lack of aggressiveness in midfield.

Mauricio Pochettino therefore decided to launch Christopher Nkunku as soon as he returned from the locker room, to energize a completely neutral offensive sector. The Frenchman was not involved in the equalizer, almost immediately, but it was his compatriot Malo Gusto who was responsible for sending a perfect cross to Conor Gallagher, who took over with one touch (1-1.47). Chelsea were more dangerous than in the first half, with a good Gusto. But the deliverance came from Gallagher, again, who this time received a cross from Cole Palmer, at the edge of the area (1-2, 91st). Enzo Fernandez sealed the deal straight away, on a smooth counter-attack led by Palmer (1-3, 90+4th). Loaned to Crystal Palace in 2021-2022, English midfielder Conor Gallagher has pushed his former team into the Premier League standings, where Chelsea are up one place (10th).
