In the fight for maintenance, the good operations are for Nantes, winner in Toulouse (1-2), and for Lorient, winner of Reims (2-0).

And here is finally the second. FC Nantes achieved its second success since the arrival of Jocelyn Gourvennec, the first since December 2 and a victory against Nice (1-0). Unable to win for six matches in the league, the Canaries revived themselves by winning on the field of Toulouse (1-2), their executioner in the final of the last Coupe de France.

The FCN regained color with the return of its scorer, Mostafa Mohamed, who opened the scoring with a nice free kick (0-1, 2nd). And the Egyptian international is also involved in Nantes’ second goal, a nice double one-two with Tino Kadewere (0-2, 51st). The Yellow and Green trembled at the end of the match, with the reduction of the gap from Thijs Dallinga (1-2, 90th + 6), and the injury to the thigh of Alban Lafont, but this success will do them a lot of well in the race to maintain, which indeed concerns Toulouse. TFC is beaten for the third time in a row at the Stadium, and prepares in the wrong way for its trip to Benfica in the Europa League.

Lorient sees double

At the same time, FC Lorient carried out the other great operation at the bottom of the table by beating Reims (2-0). The Champenois nevertheless recovered their Japanese duo Ito-Nakamura, but it was the Merlus who made the difference in the second half thanks to their providential recruit, Mohamed Bamba (1-0, 70th), and Tiémoué Bakayoko (2-0, 87th). With this second success in a row, the Morbihan club moves back to 16th place, in play-off position, while waiting to aim higher.
