After Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s resounding announcement about the Parc des Princes, Jérôme Rothen is very pessimistic about PSG.
The announcement had the effect of a bomb. Questioned on the sidelines of the UEFA congress held in Paris, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi assured that PSG wanted to leave the Parc des Princes. Consequence of the vote of the Paris Council against a sale of the Porte d’Auteuil grounds to the capital’s club.
“It’s too easy to say now that the stadium is no longer for sale. We know what we want, we wasted years trying to buy the Park. It’s over now. We want to move from the Park”, launched the Parisian president while the leaders of the French champions are now working towards the construction of a new stadium. Comments which did not fail to provoke a reaction from Jérôme Rothen, former PSG player and supporter of the Rouge et Bleu since he was very young.
“For me it’s the death of Paris Saint-Germain”
“PSG has the impression of being the pigeon,” he reacted in his show Rothen s’ignée. Since buying the club, the club has renovated the Parc des Princes. The town hall didn’t have the means to maintain it and I know what I’m talking about. In my time, we demanded changing rooms, parking and a lawn worthy of the name. Paris town hall makes me laugh. Let them stop lying to us”he said at the microphone of RMC.
For the former French international, a move from PSG would spell the end of the club. “I can’t even imagine PSG leaving the Parc des Princes. I can’t imagine it! If Nasser (Al-Khelaïfi) dares to do it, and yet I defended him, for me it is the death of Paris Saint-Germain. He will join another club but for me it’s the death of PSG.” he asserted, pointing out the double game of the town hall: “All this is the fault of the town hall, which says everything and its opposite. Today, they don’t want to sell. These people at the town hall call themselves Parisians but are not Parisians! It’s a hindrance not to have your own stadium. All European clubs have their stadium. You have to sit around a table. I hope Nasser Al-Khelaïfi doesn’t think about building a stadium. »
