Kylian Mbappé is “the most unbearable player” in the history of Real Madrid even though he has yet to kick a ball for the Spanish capital club, according to a renowned Madrid journalist.

This weekend, Le Parisien revealed that Paris Saint-Germain privately admitted that the battle to keep Mbappé was lost, with the player intending to sign for Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer. Although no agreement has yet been reached between Los Blancos and the 2018 World Cup winner, the French publication reported that Mbappé was indeed preparing to hand in his notice to PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi.

Terms of a potential deal were then revealed earlier this week, with Cadena SER claiming that in order to move to the Santiago Bernabeu, Mbappé wanted an annual salary of €50m – double that of other top players like Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior, a signing bonus of €120 million as well as a 60-40 split of his own image rights with the club.

Mbappé has already snubbed Real in the past

The player and his potential new club have still not agreed on contract terms. The Madrilenians thought they had their man in 2022 when it seemed inevitable that he would join Spain at the end of his lease with PSG. Mbappé stunned the world by signing a new contract which, according to the club, extended until 2025. It was later revealed that the contract was in fact only valid until 2024, with the Bondynois himself- even having the right to extend it for an additional year.

Last summer, he angered PSG leaders by refusing to activate this clause, which led to him being temporarily banned. He was eventually returned to the squad and became PSG’s best player again, scoring 30 goals in 29 matches in all competitions this season. The saga has lasted for almost two years and, in the eyes of Tomas Roncero, one of Madrid’s most prominent voices, it has become practically impossible for Mbappé to pay the debt he now owes to the fourteen European champions. .

“Whatever he does, he is already the most unbearable player in the history of Real Madrid“, Roncero told Cadena SER. “ It’s really boring. He has to admit he made a mistake coming here. The debt he owes to Real Madrid is almost impossible to pay. He must recognize his mistake and know that money is not the most important thing. Everything suggests that he will not continue in Paris. If he does, it will be truly Machiavellian.”
