FC Barcelona is looking to reshape its squad this summer within its means, and it’s no secret that it will have to sell to achieve this.
As the season continues and Robert Lewandowski continues to fall short, it has been speculated that FC Barcelona could try to offload their second highest earner this summer, due to interest from Saudi Saudi. In recent weeks, these rumors have calmed down, and Robert Lewandowski’s latest real estate transaction suggests that they will die out.
According to Diario AS, citing information from Barca Reservat, Lewandowski and his wife Anna Lewandowska are planning to move this summer. They currently occupy a house rented by Real Betis defender Marc Bartra, but are building a mansion for their family of four in Garraf, near the Castelldelfells district, popular with beachgoers and celebrities. Enjoying their life in Barcelona, it seems the couple could stay there long term, like Louis van Gaal or Ronald Koeman, although they also own a mansion in Mallorca.
Lewandowski turns 36 next year and enters the final year of his contract, although he has an option for one more season. If he remains the Blaugrana’s top scorer, it will be interesting to see how the new coach approaches the situation. The Polish striker appears to be on the downward slope, but it seems too early to place the responsibility on Vitor Roque’s shoulders to take over the number nine position.
