Strasbourg, Nice and Valenciennes won against their respective opponents this Wednesday, in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. Laval, on the other hand, fell against Puy-en-Velay.

A few hours after Olympique Lyonnais’ great victory against Lille (2-1), four other matches took place on Wednesday, as part of the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. In three of them, logic prevailed. But for Laval, the fall was harsh. Despite being in good form in Ligue 2, Tango lost on the pitch at Puy-en-Velay (2-1).

The National 2 residents opened the scoring in the first period with a goal from Jules Meyer (1-0, 25th). Dominated in the game, Laval still managed to equalize at the dawn of the last ten minutes thanks to Malik Tchokounte (1-1, 85th). But on a penalty obtained in stoppage time, Puy took advantage of Meyer’s double to win (2-1, 90th + 4).

Strasbourg solid at home

Traveling to Montpellier, Nice dominated its subject. The Aiglons won easily with a score of 1-4, with four different scorers. Note that Montpellier still struck a lot, but without being sufficiently precise. At the same time, little Poucet, Saint-Priest, logically lost at home against Valenciennes (1-2), even if he resisted for a long time and valiantly, conceding the fatal goal in the 80th minute.

Finally, in the last duel between Strasbourg and Le Havre, it was the highest ranked in Ligue 1 who won at home. The Alsatians were never behind and took advantage of the red received by Kouziaïev in the 81st to fly away definitively to victory (3-1). All these beautiful people are therefore qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition.
