Pablo Longoria, the president of OM, spoke this Wednesday to ask that everyone pulls in the same direction.
OM is doing badly and this is not the first crisis that the Marseille club is going through this season. Bad results are piling up and there is more and more criticism of the staff and management.
Pablo Longoria is the one who crystallizes external attacks the most. The Olympian president is particularly singled out for the incessant changes he makes within the first team. Attacked, the Spaniard did not run away. This Wednesday, he spoke to journalists to ensure that he assumes his share of responsibility.
Longoria optimistic for the future
“Monday was an important moment, he began by confiding at a press conference. The upcoming match too. It was everyone’s time to step up. We must all take our responsibilities. Have unity. Give something extra. I am the first one concerned and I ask it of all the others. We can still do a lot of things this season. Everyone has to go in the same direction.”
The strong man of OM firmly believes in a recovery in the coming weeks : “If everyone is aware of this, we will have real possibilities. We must take our destiny into our own hands. We need to improve the mentality. The results will follow next. I have confidence in the players and the coach but we must try to give more.”
Longoria acknowledged that the meeting with supporters was constructive, but he is now waiting for action. “I don’t believe the words,” he thundered. That’s how it is in life. We have to believe in reactions, in consequences… I don’t like to say what happens in meetings. We all have to go in the same direction, in the same boat. I believe that players have pride, self-esteem. I hope we will have reactions in the coming weeks.”
