The two French world champions are among the former players who could play in the Legends World Cup, which could be played next spring.

A new competition could emerge in the coming months. And this time, it should not fuel debates on the infernal speeds to which players have been subjected for several years. This event should in fact only concern retired players.

To believe the Daily Mail, a Legends World Cup should indeed see the light of day in the spring. It should take place at the beginning of June in England and bring together the eight world champion nations: France, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Spain, Uruguay, Argentina and England.

And the casting of this World Cup, reserved for players over 35, is sure to appeal to those nostalgic for football. Organized by the Elite Players Group (EPG), the competition could bring together Steve McManaman, Michael Owen, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand, David James, Frank Lampard, Robbie Fowler (England), Esteban Cambiasso, Hernan Crespo (Argentina ), Emerson, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo (Brazil), Christian Karembeu, Thierry Henry, Marcel Desailly (France), Kevin Kuranyi, Mesut Özil (Germany), Marco Materazzi, Francesco Totti (Italy), Michel Salgado, David Silva, Carles Puyol (Spain), Diego Lugano or Diego Forlan (Uruguay).

Note that the matches should last 70 minutes instead of the usual 90 minutes, which should be enough to amaze the supporters.
