Luis Enrique has coached in Spain and Serie A, and he has discovered Ligue 1 for 6 months now. Halfway through, what does he think of our championship? Like many before him, he recognizes that it is more difficult than expected. This is what he declared at a press conference, on the eve of the 8th final of the Coupe de France against Brest.
“I’ve been trying to think things through for six months. We are aware of areas where we can be better but time will tell where we go. I can only gild positive things at the moment. We are leader of the championship with high level opponents like Lens Lille, Brest, Monaco and Nice. It’s a much more difficult championship than I thought. I’m happy with what we’re doing as a team. I always hope that my team will improve throughout the season.
