Having entered the annals of FC Nantes due to his catastrophic time on the Canaries bench, Raymond Domenech has a successor.

Having remained ten years without coaching after the incredible fiasco of the World Cup in South Africa, Raymond Domenech finally dove back to everyone’s surprise, at the end of 2020. After thanking Christian Gourcuff, Waldemar Kita is indeed attempting an incredible gamble by appointing the former French coach at the head of FC Nantes. A failed bet.

Raymond Domenech’s adventure on the banks of the Erdre turns into a nightmare and ends after only 46 days and only eight matches. The results are terrible since the FCNA has not won a single match, having to settle for four draws for four defeats. The Lyon technician thus enters the annals of the club by posting the worst record of a new coach after eight matches.

Gourvennec as Domenech

But since this weekend, Raymond Domenech is no longer alone. The former right side was in fact joined in the annals of the club by Jocelyn Gourvennec. Consequence of the new defeat conceded by the Canaries against RC Lens on the 20th day of Ligue 1. Appointed in the middle of the fall to replace Pierre Aristouy, the former midfielder displays equally disastrous statistics with one victory for one draw and six defeats. And so, as for Raymond Domenech, only four points on the clock.

As a result of this bad patch, FC Nantes is in 14th placee place in Ligue 1, with only 19 points in 20 days and three steps ahead of the relegation zone.
