Mbappé’s successor at PSG already known?

While the departure of Kylian Mbappé from PSG now seems certain, Parisian leaders would already have a clear idea about recruitment for next summer.

Rarely has Kylian Mbappé seemed so close to leaving PSG. Since his arrival in the capital in the summer of 2017, the former Monegasque has certainly regularly been announced as leaving. But this time, according to Le Parisien, even the leaders of the French champions have made up their minds.

The French champions are said to be resigned and are now working towards the post-Mbappé era. A future that Luis Campos and his teams began to prepare last summer by recruiting several days of the future, first and foremost Kang-in Lee, Bradley Barcola, Randal Kolo-Muani and Gonçalo Ramos.

No new star in sight?

And according to Le Parisien, the Rouge et Bleu intend to continue on the same path next summer. Many names have been mentioned in recent months in the event of Kylian Mbappé’s departure, including those of Victor Osimhen, Rafael Leao and Mohamed Salah. However, unless there is an opportunity, the recruitment of a star capable of making the Frenchman forget will not be the Parisians’ priority.

One name is nevertheless put forward, that of Xavi Simons, loaned last summer to RB Leipzig after a very notable stint at PSV Eindhoven and once again to his advantage with 7 goals and 9 assists in 27 games. It remains to be seen whether the former Barcelona player will be interested in a return to Paris. For the moment, he has not decided on his future and the leaders of Leipzig intend to step up to the plate to convince the former Barcelona player to continue the adventure in Germany.
