A few years ago, before Pedri’s explosion, the appearances of Warren Zaire-Emery, Jamal Musiala, Lamine Yamal or the confirmation of Jude Bellingham, Ansu Fati was probably the biggest prospect of the planet. After a sparkling debut with the FC Barcelona first team, and quickly becoming a Spanish international, he was the designated successor to Lionel Messi. However, injuries, and not the least important ones, crept into his path and considerably slowed down his progress.
Relegated to substitute status at FC Barcelona, he left for Brighton this summer. An interesting bet, since the Spaniard was joining a particularly offensive team renowned for its way of playing, in a context where competition would be less. His debut with Brighton was quite encouraging, without being brilliant. He notably scored against Manchester City in October, and scored in the Seagulls’ two matches against Ajax in the Europa League.
