We are in the last four of the CAN!

After Côte d’Ivoire’s victory against Mali at the end of extra time, it was South Africa who obtained the last ticket to the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations on Saturday, coming out Cape Verde on penalties.

After more than 120 minutes of play without a single goal and a brilliant penalty shootout (0-0, 1 tab to 2), South Africa eliminated Cape Verde in the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast on Saturday to face Nigeria in the semi-finals!

The Tubaroes Azuis (the Blue Sharks) did not manage to score despite their domination and above all 25 strikes on goal, against Bafana Bafana who continued their fourth clean sheet of the competition (after having eliminated Morocco 2-0 in the 8th ).

Ryan Mendes or Bebé (entered in the 72nd) did not manage to bring down the opposing team. The former Manchester United striker was the first Cape Verdean to come up against South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, who saved three other shots on goal, including the last from Patrick Andrade!

The other half of the Ivorian CAN will be played the same day, immediately (9 p.m.), between Ivory Coast, the host country, and DR Congo.
