Nigeria and Angola face each other in the quarter-finals of CAN 2023, this Friday (6 p.m.). Here is all the essential information on this match.

After having approached this African Cup of Nations in relative discretion, Nigeria can no longer hide. The leaders of the African continent have fallen one after the other, from Senegal to Morocco, via Algeria, Egypt and Cameroon.

Nigeria, who fell to the Indomitable Lions in the round of 16, therefore emerge as one of the two favorites with Ivory Coast for a final victory. Carried by their star Victor Osimhen, who has not yet signed a masterclass in the tournament, the Super Eagles will have a standard to maintain to reach the last four of the competition. But Nigeria will have to be wary of an Angola team ready to play without complexes. Since the start of this edition, the Palancas Negras have emerged as one of the sensations of the tournament after finishing first in a group in which Algeria appeared. The stage is set.

The expected compositions

Nigeria : Nwabili – Ajayi, Ekong, Bassey – Aina, Onyeka, Iwobi, Zaidu – Simon, Osimhen, Lookman.

Angola : Antonio – Afonso, Gaspar, Buatu, To Carneiro – Fredy, Show, Estrela – Gilberto, Mabululu, Gelson Dala.
