Olympique de Marseille has ticked off the name of a well-known international defender on the continent.

He established himself as one of the sensations of the last European Championship before suffering a serious injury: Leonardo Spinazzola still has strengths to showcase. The Italian international is in an advantageous situation for his courtiers, since his contract at AS Roma expires next June. The defender is therefore free to join the club of his choice since January 1. An opportunity that Olympique de Marseille was ready to seize.

Several local media claimed that OM management was considering attracting Spinazzola. The possibility of seeing the Italian land this winter was studied, but Marseille could also wait 6 months to recover the player without transfer compensation. In the meantime, Pablo Longoria has bet on French international hopeful Quentin Merlin.

An attractive name for OM

For his part, the Italian international (24 caps) seemed seduced by the challenge of Olympique de Marseille, a club renowned for its popular fervor. At the age of 30, this defender praised for his counter-attacking qualities intends to relaunch his career. A link which will perhaps not be broken since the management of OM could return to the charge in 6 months.
