Kylian: a source of concern
Luis Enrique, the Parisian coach, got a bit carried away after the victory against Rennes (3-1). His comments contained a sense of incomprehension and a hint of self-persuasion. He arrived as the coach of a team with only one “big” star. Now, that star seems to be absent from the field and even from the media. Kylian Mbappé, previously praised for his mental strength and ability to always perform, is now just a “normal” player. Even an injury during a big game doesn’t prevent his teammates from winning.
The summer was tough for Mbappé, with doubts about his future at the club. Despite a good start to the season, with seven goals in four matches, he has gone four games without scoring – something that hasn’t happened since September 2021. He seems distant, with an unusual resignation when his teammates are struggling. There are concerns about his attitude and its impact on his image.
For now, everyone seems to be prescribing some tender love and care for Kylian. Didier Deschamps says it would be unfair for him not to receive the Ballon d’Or. He also reassures that even when he’s not at his best, Kylian has the capacity to be decisive – a message aimed at the upcoming Euro and the French national team.
For now, it’s all about hugs and love, but Kylian needs to find his form again.
