Real Madrid will likely have to work to secure all three points against Getafe this evening at the Coliseum, as they look to replace Girona at the top of the table.

The Whites, however, have an important match on the horizon on Sunday evening against Atlético Madrid, and risk losing two key midfielders for this match. Aurélien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga both have four yellow cards in La Liga and will miss the match against the Rojiblancos if they are retained in what promises to be a hotly contested encounter in Getafe. Normally, Carlo Ancelotti has to make a choice between the two at the base of his midfield, but the decision could be easier for him.

Valverde’s comeback

If both players are absent, Fede Valverde will start alongside Toni Kroos against Atlético, according to Diario AS. The Uruguayan has had his best games this season in this position, as has Real Madrid, meaning there will be no major downside to the starting XI should that happen. Real Madrid will look to take revenge on Atlético after being eliminated from the Copa del Rey by Los Colchoneros in their fourth meeting of the season. The balance tips 2 to 1 in favor of Atlético.
