Just one month after his signing for PSG, the Brazilian defender sows doubts regarding his level of play. The Parisian leaders do not seem convinced by him.

At the very start of this winter transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain formalized the arrival of Lucas Beraldo, coming from São Paulo. After signing a five-year contract, the Brazilian defender was launched into the deep end only a few hours later, during the Champions Trophy against Toulouse.

Since then, the 20-year-old has played three other matches with the capital club, including his first in Ligue 1, last Sunday against Stade Brestois. Positioned as left back, the native of Piracicaba showed some worrying shortcomings. For example, he only won five of the twelve duels he faced. According to The Team, the Parisian leaders realized that Beraldo would not be able to keep tenure. Beyond his performances in official matches, his performances in training leave something to be desired. Luis Campos and his staff could therefore finalize an arrival in the last hours of the transfer window, in order to further strengthen the defensive sector.

“There are a lot of Brazilian players who have played in this jersey and who have been very important, like Marquinhos, who is now the captain, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, and all the others. The best Brazilian central defenders have passed through here and I think that played a role in my decision to come,” said Beraldo, moments after signing his contract with PSG.
