Clearly, the stories between Real Madrid and refereeing continue to be talked about. After the controversy during the match against Almeria, it was the match against Las Palmas which caused a scandal. The performance of referee César Soto Grado poses a problem, while Rodrygo should, according to the Las Palmas camp, have been sent off in the first period. And new audio has made Las Palmas jump, as reported Marca. Indeed, DAZN published a video showing the match referee chatting with Nacho and Carvajal as they returned to the field for the second half. Soto Grado admits he should have sent off Rodrygo, to which the Real Madrid captain tells him: “Nothing, he says you give him the yellow card for the stroller and the goalkeeper too”and Soto Grado responds categorically: “Clearly, it’s red”to Nacho’s surprise: “How can it be red?” the defender retorts. Obviously, this new audio immediately caused Las Palmas to react, who requested a press release on what really happened during this match, especially since VAR did not intervene.

The Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) published a press release to deny the information in this video. “The CTA categorically denies that referee César Soto Grado affirmed, during the break in the match between Las Palmas and Real Madrid last Saturday, that a player from the white team had to be sent off, as attributed by the television operator DAZN. What César Soto Grado says, when faced with the appreciation of a Real Madrid player, is: If it were the other way around, you would say that it is a very light red. We invite the players of both clubs present in the conversation to confirm, in honor of the truth, the correct version”. What to put an end to the controversy?
