Barça, the terrible news

FC Barcelona could be deprived of one of its important elements for its next big Champions League meeting.

FC Barcelona will have to deal with a significant absence ahead of their Champions League round of 16 first leg against Naples on February 21.

Portuguese international João Félix was injured in training on Tuesday and suffered a sprain of the external lateral ligament in his right ankle.

“During training this morning, first team player João Félix sprained the external lateral ligament of his right ankle. He is unavailable and his development will determine his availability,” we can read in the press release published by the Catalan club.

The duration of unavailability of the former Atlético Madrid member has not been communicated. However, a sprain of the external lateral ligament of the right ankle generally requires several weeks of recovery.

The presence of the left winger against the reigning Italian champion is therefore strongly compromised. FCB could be forced to do without the native of Viseu for an important match. A hard blow for the Blaugranas, who will have to find a solution to compensate for his absence.
