Reds fans are prepared to pay astronomical sums to attend Jürgen Klopp’s final match at Anfield next May

Liverpool fans are being offered the chance to sit right behind Jurgen Klopp for his final game at Anfield – if they are willing to fork out a staggering £25,000 (€29,000) for the privilege. On a black market site, prime seats for Klopp’s final emotional salute in front of the Kop are already being snapped up for £18,000. With VAT and the hefty service charge, the bill comes to £24,480.

29,000 euros per place on resale sites

Seats are located in Block L5, at the front of Anfield’s imposing Main Stand, just behind the penalty box. These are arguably the best seats in the stadium, but they are being sold by Liverpool for a nominal value of just £60. This means that the resale site will make a profit of 40,700%.

There are cheaper seats on resale for the game against Wolves on May 19, but they all cost almost £2,000 before taxes and booking fees. As a reminder, tickets for Sir Alex Ferguson’s last match in charge of Manchester United, at West Brom in 2013, sold for £3,000 after his retirement was announced.

Liverpool fans will be ready to bid Klopp farewell after the German announced he would leave the club at the end of the season, after more than eight years in charge. Supporters will be hoping the 56-year-old manager leaves the club on a high by winning the Premier League. When the Reds were crowned champions in 2020, captain Jordan Henderson had to lift the trophy in an empty stadium due to lockdown measures in force at the time.
