Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be confident of winning the transfer race for Bruno Guimaraes, who has a £100m release clause at Newcastle
The Brazilian international midfielder sees his future at St James’ Park called into question as the Magpies strive to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Sales may need to be made to tick these boxes, with Bruno clearly attracted to the big European clubs.
First contact established
According to the Mirror, PSG has the South American playmaker in its sights. A first contact would have been established with the club in the capital and discussions would have taken place with Bruno’s advisors.
Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the 26-year-old, but it won’t be cheap if there is a possible deal. After joining Newcastle from Lyon for £34 million in January 2022, Bruno has since committed to signing a new contract which includes a nine-figure release clause
