Mbappé, the big headache

While PSG could not do better than a draw against Brest (2-2), Kylian Mbappé went through his match and appeared annoyed. Its positioning at the forefront is singled out.

The frustration was obvious, on the Parisian side, after the draw conceded against Stade Brestois, Sunday, at the end of the 20e day of Ligue 1. The red card received by Bradley Bracola for protest in added time is obviously the best illustration of this and Luis Enrique let his annoyance show in front of the press, showing himself expeditiously.

Kylian Mbappé didn’t wait to see Brest equalize to appear angry. This is evidenced by his signs of frustration in the first period when he was not served by his teammates as he hoped or his spat with Kenny Lala. But the first reason for this annoyance was undoubtedly his very sluggish performance. The world champion was indeed very clumsy and made many bad choices. A poor performance which does not surprise Daniel Riolo.

A position that is debated

“We no longer see what makes Mbappé strong. The overflows, the accelerations, the strikes…”commented the RMC polemicist, pointing out his repositioning at the forefront of the Parisian attack while Bradley Barcola, still at his advantage before his exclusion, occupied the right flank.

These doubts about this repositioning are, however, not shared by all observers. “I’ll tell you, on his positioning, they were all wrong. Except Luis Enrique”, Luis Fernandez recently confided on this subject, adding: “On the attacking front, he has that freedom. This is where it is most effective. I prefer him to this position. And then on the side, we know, Kylian doesn’t make the effort to defend. It creates an imbalance when the team does not have the ball. You don’t just have to think offensively. »
