After defeats against Nice and PSG (as well as an elimination in the Coupe de France against Monaco), RC Lens resumed its march forward by pocketing three points against Toulouse FC, Sunday afternoon at the Stadium, for the count of the 19th day of Ligue 1 (1-2).
The Sang et Or, who moved to 8th, 5 points from the top 4, opened the scoring before half-time through David Pereira da Costa (42nd). On a nice opening from Neil El Aynaoui, the Portuguese Hope slipped the ball between the legs of Guillaume Restes.
First for Diouf
Andy Diouf doubled the lead on the hour mark with a superb shot from outside the area, with his right foot even though he is left-handed (55th). The 20-year-old midfielder trained at Stade Rennais, scored his first goal in Ligue 1. Until then, he had only scored in the Conference League with FC Basel last season.
Tef had the opportunity to revive before added time with the help of a penalty, but Vincent Sierro sent his shot onto the bar (88th)… The Violets fell back, they were 14th with one more point on the virtual barrage, OL.
