Real Madrid still hopes to sign Kylian Mbappé for Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, so he can agree terms with another club now, although at this stage he is yet to commit his future to a direction or the other. In the event of Mbappé’s arrival, the Real Madrid team, made up of many stars, should be downsized, or so it seems. Sport thus affirms that if the French international joins the club, Vinicius Junior will be sold in his place, given that the two players mainly play in the same position.
Vinicius in danger
The Catalan daily claims that Florentino Perez sees Mbappé ahead of Vinicius, and that the Brazilian striker – who has been one of the best on the planet over the last 18 months – “does not have the profile” to be number one of Real Madrid.
It would nevertheless be very surprising if Vinicius Junior was sold by Real Madrid. He is a very popular player at the club, and Perez is one of his admirers. It doesn’t make sense to sell him at this stage of his career, and the potential he has to play with Mbappé is huge.
