Antony’s agent has responded to speculation suggesting Manchester United were prepared to write off the Brazilian winger as a flop and sell him this winter.

The Red Devils invested heavily in the 23-year-old striker by snatching him from Ajax in the summer of 2022. The South American thus reunited with Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, both men having already enjoyed great success together in Amsterdam.

Antony’s Agent’s Promise

Since then, Antony has struggled on and off the pitch, scoring just eight goals in 66 appearances in all competitions. He is yet to score a single goal in the current campaign, leading to rumors of a 2024 transfer.

Antony’s rep Junior Pedroso insists no discussions have taken place, but he told United In Focus his client needs to get back into some form: ” Manchester have so far communicated no interest in his transfer, either in January or in the summer. Antony is focusing on these four months of the season to improve his performances, knowing that he must score goals and make assists. That’s his goal. Today we have the lead at Manchester United. He knows very well that he has to score, there is no point in having good matches, he has to score goals and make assists. He is very consistent about it. He’s going to come back different, and certainly, in these four months he’s going to show a lot more than what he showed this season. »
